Recent examples of this strategy are investments in Marriott branded hotel projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 204-room dual-brand Marriott Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites has a prime Charlotte airport location with nearby office parks and convenient access to interstate highways and downtown Charlotte. This hotel opened in late 2016 and has produced very strong results since its opening. The 188-room dual-brand Marriott Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott is situated adjacent to a Class A office park and a 1 million square foot retail mall in north Charlotte.
Strong demand at nearby hotels confirm demand that will be immediately attracted to this new, upscale dual-brand Marriott that will open in Spring 2018.
